We were given a copy of a presentation the other week explaining about how to do a presentation. It wasn’y really much different and included a lot of the same information that I had already found and researched within other websites. However, it was good for a quick reminder of what I should be doing and including within my presentation.

Presentation Information From Lecture
May 4, 2007Copyright Lecture
May 4, 2007The other week we had a lecture on copyright and I found it really helpful and informative. I knew a few basics about the copyright laws but after the lecture I felt I knew a lot more, however it does seem very complicated with all the different aspects within it. I think the safest thing to do if I am to promote my work is to send it to myself by recorded post to prove if need be that it is my original work. If I wanted to take my work further and eventually sell it I think it would then be best to actually pay for it to be copyrighted to stop anyone else from using or taking it and trying to pass it off as their own.
Lecture
March 2, 2007In last weeks lecture we were shown a powerpoint including the information I viewed on a website the week before (http://www.mollygordon.com/resources/marketingresources/artstatemt/). I still feel the same about this idea and way of producing my artist’s statement and that it is quite a good idea as it takes you through some simple steps. However, I would still like to visit other web sites and research in to some artist’s statements before I complete my own.
During the lecture we were also given a really helpful booklet called a ‘Guide to Art Funding in England’ which I think will come in very useful, if not during this module then in the future because it includes many contacts.

1st Lecture/Workshop
February 18, 2007The module content seems quite interesting because it is enabling us to get some experience and to start promoting ourselves and our work within the real world. It is good because it means we can get guidance of how to properly promote and present ourselves and the work we are interested in doing.
