Contact List

I have been putting together a contact list over the last few weeks for my project of people who I think will be useful contacts for me in the future and at present with the work I am doing and will be producing. So far my list includes contacts who I know from working at a club with the promotions side of it and the VJ sets that are shown. The rest of the list I have compilled from other peoples contacts and people they know that work within the VJ business, people who may in anyway want to use my images from stills from my videos and musicians and bands who may wish to have a video produced for their music.

Stills Complete

I have completed the first part of assignment 1 and resized and saved the stills from my videos I have produced at the highest file size I can. I have kept with the five stills I chose the other day and have added to my blog, I will hand these stills in on CD and also print them and mount them up.

Rough Artist Statement

I have got a finished rough artist statement and wish to research and view other artist statements to try and help me to improve my own. I want to try and produce a really good finished artist statement that will really help promote myself and represent my work well. As I have written before I have researched and viewed web sites that help you to write your artist statement which show one or two artist statements as examples which has helped me to get started, but I would like to view some real artist statements to see if there are any variations at all.

5 Stills for Assignment 1

I decided this evening to choose 5 stills that I am going to hand in with assignment 1. I have taken them from my 2D and 3D animations and effects videos and they are shown below:

I have been taking stills from some of my vidoes over the last few weeks but at the moment I have got so many that I can not decide on a select few to hand in for assignment 1. I will hopefully choose which ones I am going to hand in over the next few days and import them into Photoshop and resize them and save them at the highest file size I can so they will be good for A4 print quality.

Personal Statement

For the first assignment of writing a personal statement I think I have got quite a good idea of what should be included in it. This is because of being involved within the field of art I have been asked to write short artist statements before to go with work I have produced. So I know my statement should include what I do, why I do it and how, but I want to research and look into other artist statements to enable me to produce a really good statement to represent me and my work.

Area of Work

I can’t decide at the moment what area of work I most want to work within. I have really enjoyed and would like to work within the the fields of VJing and producing music videos or something that involves me producing and recording different footage and 2D and 3D animation and effects. I am going to have to decide quite soon which one I want to take further and to promote myself within for this module, unless I can mix the two together in some way.
